I think data is a powerful way to communicate positions. My interests are primarily in ways data can be used to evaluate and learn about public policy and other social science applications.

  • Worked with data from online records in accordance with confidentiality rules
  • Built logistic models to predict no-shows
  • Applied netword analysis and spatial autocorrelation to determine the optimal clinic to open for late hours
  • Communicated findings to Planned Parenthood staff in formal presentation to inform changes in scheduling procedures

  • Create maps for published story on changing demographics in Brightwood neighborhood

Aside from programming, I enjoy distance running (I've been running half marathons since 10th grade!), hiking, biking, and reading. I'm slowly working my way up to a full marathon. My favorite kinds of books are memoirs and social science books, but my favorite book of all time is The Kite Runner!
